Skaneateles is considered the jewel of the Finger Lakes, as it should be with its beautiful aqua green water and superior clarity. This lake has one of the best water qualities out of the Finger Lakes let alone the state. Used by Syracuse as a primary drinking source very little is done with treatment for this lake. Aside from the water quality this lake has the beautiful Town of Skaneateles on the north end of the lake. With lots of unique stores and restaurants the town is worth checking out.
