Baffin Bay is one of the largest spawning grounds for saltwater game fish in the state. The bay as well as its adjacent tributaries, Laguna Salada, Cayo del Grullo and Alazan Bay, remains an angler’s heaven. The scarce freshwater inflow and extensive evaporation is promoted by the shallow water and the warm climate. The result is a bay that has a relatively high water salinity. Some of the bottom of the bay is covered in sea grass, while most other parts are dominated by shoal grass. Beach rocks and serpulid worm reefs, which are only found in Baffin Bay, provide much of the structure that fish will relate to. Featured Species: Spotted Seatrout Southern Flounder Redfish (Red Drum) Black Drum
