Scout's Ride of the Month
Eureka! It's a Trinity Twister ~ 240 Miles
Head out of quaint coastal Eureka and get ready for some abrupt twists and turns. This loop will keep you on your toes (or the brake...depending on how fast you are going). It's hard not to glimpse up every so often to see Mother Nature's wonders, but for safety's sake we advise you to always keep your eyes on the pavement, especially as you wind through the Trinity National Forest. Arcata flaunts Victorian architecture, so be sure to stop and take the town's Architectural Homes Tour at the Chamber of Commerce to see these colorful 19th-century dwellings. Once back in Eureka at the end of your amazing 240-mile trip, head to the Lost Coast Brewery & Cafe. Beer and chocolate cake - now that's a winning combination! This brewery is so named because Eureka is just north of the area nicknamed the "Lost Coast," where Highway 1 was not built. Ironically, "Eureka!" is also the California state motto and is Greek for "I have found it!"
You'll definitely "find it" on this spectacular Northern California loop.
